「～～になりたい！！」っていう気持ちをもっているかな？「野球選手になりたい」とか「ヒーローになりたい」とかね。
ただ、自己実現は手段であって、目的ではないんだよね。
なんのために自己実現をするのか、たまには立ち止まって考えてほしいんだ。
自己実現の先になにがあるのかな？
その先にあるもの次第で、人生は大きく変わると思うんだよね。

たとえば、「お金持ちになる」っていう夢をもっている二人の男の子がいるとします。
一人は、「みんなにちやほやされたいから」お金持ちになることを夢みていました。もう一人は「人の役にたつ素晴らしい事業をするためにお金が必要だから」お金持ちになることを夢みていました。
お金持ちになったら、ぜったいちやほやされます。それは間違いないです。
だけど、ある程度ちやほやされたら嫌でも気づきます。
ちやほやする人たちは、彼にひきつけられているのではなくて、お金にひきつけられているのだと。
お金の切れ目が縁の切れ目だと。
そして彼はお金を失うことを極端に恐れるようになります。
なぜなら彼にとって大事なことは、ちやほやされることだから。
ちやほやされ続けるために、彼はお金を死守します。
そして、お金持ちになる前にもっていた挑戦する心や勇気は失われて、お金を失う恐怖とともにケチケチした生活をおくることになります。
すばらしい事業をするためにお金持ちになる夢をもっている男の子の場合はどうかな？
彼の場合、お金持ちになっても、お金を死守する人にはなりません。
なぜなら、そのお金は事業のために使うので、いずれなくなるからです。
お金持ちであり続けて、ちやほやされ続けることなんて彼にとってはどうでもいいからです。
さらにいえば、素晴らしい事業をするためにお金持ちになる場合、周りの協力が得られやすいので、ちやほやされたいからお金持ちになる子に比べて比較的簡単にお金持ちになりやすいです。

重要なことは、お金持ちになってなにを実現したいのか？ということなんだよね。
お金は手段であって、目的にはなりえません。お金を目的にして、執着したとたんに、お金の奴隷になりさがります。さらにいえば、永遠にお金持ちであり続けることは不可能です。
このことは、「お金持ち」以外にもいえるよね。
もしも今、君が「～～になりたい」っていう夢をもっているとしたら、ぜひ立ち止まって考えてほしいんだ。
君は、それになったあとに、何を実現したいのかな？

Do you have a desire like “I want to be ～～”?
The desire is like “I want to be a baseball player” or “I want to be a hero”.
I think this desire is very good to you. If you have such a desire, you can have a strong motivation.
The feeling like “I want to be ～～” is called as “self-realization” in a difficult term.
But, please keep it in your mind that self-realization is measures, not your objective.
I would like you to stop and think for a moment.
“For what do you aim at self-realization?”
“What is there beyond self-realization?”
Depends on that something, I think your life will change greatly.

For instance, there are two boys who want to be rich.
One boy dreams to be rich because he wants to be praised by others.
Another wants to be rich because he needs money to achieve an enterprise which helps people.
If the first boy gets rich, I bet others are sure to praise him. But after that, he will notice one thing; people praise him not by his attraction, but by his money.
“The end of money is the end of love.”
And he will fear extremely to lose money because his top priority is to be praised. He defends money desperately. He loses challenging spirits and courage which he had before he got rich. And he will finally spend his remaining lifetime stingily.
How about another boy who has a dream to be rich for a wonderful enterprise?
In his case, he won’t be a person who defends money desperately even if he gets rich.
As he spends money for the enterprise, the money will disappear some day.
It doesn’t matter for him whether he is praised by others or not.
In addition, in this case that his enterprise helps people, people around him would support his enterprise, so that it is easier for him to be rich rather than the case of the boy who wants to be praised.

I think the important point is what you want to do when you get rich.
Money is measures, not your objective.
If you make money for your objective, and if you stick to it, you become the slave of money. It is impossible for you to be rich forever.
We can say in the same way about things other than money.
If you have a desire like “I want to be ～～”, please stop and think for a moment.
“What do you want to be after you get rich?”
